Volunteer
Environmental Educator-Naturalist
Share the wonder of nature and empower others to take action on behalf of birds.
Do you love birds, insects, plants, fungi, and 1,000 other living organisms? Do you enjoy guiding others in their journeys towards loving them, too? If you do, then we want to hear from you! An integral part of our work at the Sharon Audubon Center is providing opportunities for people of all ages to develop an interest in birds, their habitats, and how to conserve both. Whether you’re delivering a Bird of Prey program or leading a general nature hike, our education staff will train you on the curriculum and provide you with the necessary support. While no previous experience is necessary, we do require the following:
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Provide your own transportation to the Sharon Audubon Center or to program locations.
- Receive training in environmental education best practices.
- Be adaptable and flexible in varied situations.
Note: All volunteers who wish to work with our resident wildlife will be trained, by Sharon Audubon staff, well in advance of an environmental education program.
If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity or would like to learn more, please contact us at the Sharon Audubon Center.
