Environmental Educator-Naturalist
Our first priority at Sharon Audubon Center is to teach about the importance of the environment and our natural surroundings. Volunteer educators work with Audubon staff in helping children and adults gain a better understanding and respect for the natural world. Volunteers are trained in Sharon Audubon Center curriculum material by center staff. Some popular subjects include: Soils (looking for soil critters,) Insect Insanity, Animal Menagerie, Maple Sugaring, and Discovery Walks. Programs typically run 1 to 1.5 hours in length. No previous experience is necessary, but volunteers must be willing to work with children in an outdoor setting and have a desire to expand their interest in nature and wildlife.
