Celebrate Black History Month
In celebration of Black History Month, Sharon Audubon Center is proud to display the work of the Torrington High School Science Club, whose students have prepared informative posters about conservation heroes of color. The posters highlight men and women, past and present, whose work is ongoing, impactful, and often little known. The posters are being displayed through the month of February on our main trail kiosk, and along the Maple Trail. Come and be inspired by the work of fellow conservationists!
Our center grounds are open daily from sunrise to sunset. During your visit, COVID facemasks must be worn and social distancing must be observed at all times.
Enjoy your visit and the posters! Please share YOUR appreciation for these conservation heroes and the Torrington High School students' tribute by using the hashtag #BlackHistoryMonth and tagging us (@sharonauduboncenter) on Facebook or Instagram after walking the trail!
