Intro to Maple Sugaring

February 10, 2018 - Sharon, CT

Audubon Sharon will be presenting an “Introduction to Maple Sugaring” Workshop on Saturday, February 10, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Sharon Audubon Center, located at 325 Cornwall Bridge Road (Route 4) in Sharon, Connecticut.

Are you interested in making your own maple syrup this spring, but are not sure what to do or how to start? If you have sugar maple trees, you can make syrup with a little time and a little work. Join Audubon Sharon Staff for this Introduction to Maple Sugaring Workshop and learn what supplies you will need to get started, how to tap trees, and how to determine which trees to tap, etc. Come prepared to head outside for the second part of the workshop (boots are a must!) and practice tapping trees, hanging buckets, and putting up sap lines on our Maple Trail! By the end of the season, hopefully, you will be enjoying delicious maple syrup produced by your very own trees!

Fee: $10 Audubon Members, $15 Non-Members
